Heart Disease Symptoms
Heart Disease Symptoms kill over 2500 people per day!
Can you imagine if that many people were dying in airplane crashes EVERY DAY? That would be the equivalent of at least eight jumbo jets each carrying 312 passengers crashing somewhere in the United States every single day of the year with no survivors. Can you imagine what the media response would be?

Heart disease symptoms stop beating hearts.
Mark did not immediately recognize heart disease symptoms. He was 17-years-old when he saw his father clutch his shoulder as he sank to the steps of the front porch one day. “Get your mother,” he gasped before he faded from consciousness. Mark was terrified as he ran through the house, picking up the phone to dial 911 as he yelled for his Mom. Mark and his mother tried to get his dad to respond. His breath was shallow and weak. They waited in helpless agony for the paramedics to arrive.

The emergency room doctor said that Mark’s dad had suffered a massive heart attack and that he would survive. They were told he needed angioplasty to open the blockage in four arteries.
Blocked arteries are a common heart disease symptom.
Mark was not prepared for was how weakened his dad was when he came home from the hospital a week after his close call. They had to set up a bed for him in the den because it was too much for him to climb the stairs to the room he shared with Mom. Dad became breathless, just walking to the mailbox. Mark was nervous every time his father put his hand over his heart. Dad would smile weakly and say, “Just a little heartburn, son.” Dad took a long leave from his work as he recovered. His recovery was slow.
He was only 49 years old.

This frightening scenario plays out for hundreds of thousands every year. Heart disease symptoms kills four out of every ten Americans. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. For many there are no warning signs. For these, the first indication of heart disease symptoms is sudden death.
At least 250,000 people die of heart attacks each year before they reach a hospital. Half of all heart attack victims wait more than two hours before getting help.
Heart Disease Symptoms are largely preventible.
For over a hundred years, heart disease has been the leading killer in our nation when it is preventable for a vast majority of people. We know what causes heart disease and there is plenty of evidence to support lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk. We must overcome the denial. The “it won’t happen to me” syndrome. Many men are gambling with their health, their arteries already partially clogged, like ticking time bombs, set to seriously interrupt their life.
"Diseases of Affluence"
Heart disease is one of what Dr. T. Colin Campbell calls “diseases of affluence” in his book The China Study. The New York Times called this book, “the most comprehensive large study ever undertaken of the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease...” Heart disease is simply the body’s failing attempt to assimilate our rich, fatty western diet.
